Item Description
This lovely white burgundy is a great representation of Les Peuillets, a Premier Cru climat of the Savigny-les-Beaune appellation in the Cote de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy. Savigny-les-Beaune Premier Cru wines are those produced under the strictest conditions of the Savigny-les-Beaune appellation, from grapes grown within officially classified Premier Cru vineyards. This 2009 vintage of Domaine Dublere is a favorite of local wine experts who describe it as light straw in color. Citrus, flowers and hint of lees are apparent on the nose. Direct and uncomplicated on the palate, it exhibits lively grapefruit and lime flavours that are leveled off with minimal oak and calm round maloactic acids through the mid palate. The producers describe it similarly, but also note that its bouquet frequently evokes butter and brioche with notes of lemon, grapefruit, and occasionally a touch of minerality. A lively attack helps to make this a clean, straightforward wine -- quite fleshy, persistent, and occasionally with a touch of spice.
