About the Artist
Japanese painter and calligraphy expert, Muramassa Kudo was born close to Tokyo in 1948. As a child he lived in a quaint and attractive town in Rural Northern Japan named Aomori. From a young age, Kudo was shown the affection and esteem for the beauty of nature. It was this appreciation that spawned his inspiration and creative motivation.
Earning First Place in Japan's distinguished Youth Calligraphy competition at thirteen, in the folowing two years, Kudo would go on to earn the status of World Class Master in the art of Calligraphy. A traveler of the world, Kudo moved to L.A. in 1980 where he began to produce works absorbed with a smooth oriental feel.
A poet and Zen Philosopher, Kudo's skillful hand combined with his love for nature has resulted in works of stellar accord and symmetry.
