About the Artist
Born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1932, Mireille Kramer emigrated to Isreal when she was 19 years old. She enrolled at the Jerusalem University and helped create the Hein-Had artist colony near Haifa. She developed her technique in etching at the University of Milan and continued her art education in Paris at I'Ecole du Louvre and I'Academie Jullian, and in the United States at the Pratt Institute, New York.
Kramer has exhibited her works at the Musee National d'Art Moderne, Paris; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the Tel Aviv Gallery, Moed Kahanke. Kramer was awarded the Millerman Prize in the 1957 Young Artists of Isreal Exhibition.
