About the Artist
In 1954 Wilfred was born into an artistic family in Shangai. He was schooled in traditional painting by his father.
Wilfred attended art schools in in China and Hong Kong where he began his contemporary work. From 1977 on he has travelled and exhibited his works in New York, Hawaii, Hong Kong and Europe. In the last years Amsterdam has become a second home for Wilfred and serves as a doorway for him to bring his art to the rest of the world.
Wilfred's work contains influences from both the Eastern and Western culture. By transforming themes of birds, tree branches and rocks to linear configurations and planes, he turned to abstract representation without designated forms. Rich colors, smooth brushwork and a natural flow and dripping paint explore the medium to form communication with the viewers.
