  • Shuttle flight from Edinburgh to Manchester
  • International round trip coach class airfare for (2) to Manchester, England

Day 1: England
Arrive in Manchester, England, pick up your rental car and travel approximately one hour (45mi.) to your hotel in Southport.

Scarisbrick Hotel (Southport) – Enjoy a one-night stay at this hotel ideally situated in the heart of Southport's tree-lined main boulevard. This traditional hotel offers the discerning visitor the highest standards of accommodation, cuisine and service.

Day 2: England-Scotland

Royal Birkdale Golf Club (Southport) – This club is situated in the northwest of England on the same stretch of coastline as fellow Open Championship venues Royal Lytham St. Annes and Royal Liverpool. It is distinguished by its roll call of honors: two Ryder Cups, the Walker and Curtis Cups, and eight Open Championships. Ranked #31 in the world, this is a course that provides a formidable test of links golf and fully deserves its recognition as a true venue for the Open Championship. Each hole runs in valleys between towering sand hills. The 2008 British Open was played at Birkdale when Padraig Harrington lifted the Claret Jug for back-to-back Open Championships.  (6703 Yards/Par 72)

Drive approximately (4) hours north (207mi.) to Ayrshire for your next hotel stay.

Turnberry Resort (Ayrshire) – Enjoy a two-night stay at this 5-star property. Set on 360 acres, this traditional hotel was built at the turn of the century and has retained its elegance and comfort.  A truly Scottish icon, Turnberry Resort Scotland enjoys a spectacular coastal setting with breathtaking views of Isle of Arran, Ailsa Craig and the Irish Sea. NOTE: If traveling before August 2009, your itinerary will be adjusted to include the Barcelo Troon Marine Hotel and the Royal Troon Golf Club, due to current renovations at Turnberry Resort.

Day 3: Scotland

Turnberry Resort / Ailsa Course (Ayrshire) - The venue for the 138th Open Championship in 2009.  Ranked #17 in the world, Ailsa is the most dramatic Scottish links course set along a rockbound coast above the golden sands of Turnberry Bay. The Ailsa Course is a fine championship course made doubly magnificent by the surrounding landscape - the granite dome of Ailsa Craig, the low form of the tip of Argyll and the peaks of Arran highlighting the changing patterns of light and shade. Closer at hand, the lighthouse, and the ninth's lovely back tee are other symbols of Turnberry, the hole's title adding an historic echo.  (6,950 Yards/Par 70)

Return to the Turnberry Resort for a second night.

Day 4: Scotland
Drive approximately 35 minutes north (18mi.) to Troon.

Royal Troon Golf Club / Old Course (Troon) – Host to the British Open Championship eight times, most recently in 2004, it was also host to the 2008 Senior Open. Ranked #40 in the world, this marvelous course lies at the southern end of a long run of dune land stretching from Irvine to Prestwick. Royal Troon is an exceptionally demanding course, recognized as one of the sternest in the British Open schedule.  (7,097 Yards/Par 72)

From the Irish Sea, drive approximately 2½ hours northeast (115mi.) across Scotland to St Andrews on the North Sea.

Old Course Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews – Enjoy a two-night stay at this prestigious 5-star hotel. There is no more spectacular location in all of St Andrews. This fine resort hotel overlooks the manicured acres of its namesake Old Course and across to the sea beyond. It’s an elegantly informal haven of luxury, warm hospitality and exquisite dining.  As you step through its entrance, you’ll realize why the Old Course Hotel has been described as one of Scotland’s leading resort hotels. The hotel is set in a spectacular location overlooking the infamous 17th hole and the historic royal Links Clubhouse.

Day 5: Scotland

St Andrews Links / Old Course  – "To win at St Andrews is the ultimate" - Tiger Woods, British Open Champion 2000 & 2005. There have now been 27 Opens held on the Old Course and 22 different winners dating back to 1873. Ranked #3 in the world, it was nature that formed St Andrews over the centuries, and the St Andrews Old Course has seen little change from its original layout. From hole #1 crossing the bridge over the famous Swilken Burn, to hole #18 with its notorious Valley of Sin, there is no other golf course today with the history of the St Andrews Old Course. (6,566 Yards/Par 72)

Return to the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews for a second night.

Day 6: Scotland-England
Drive approximately 45 minutes northeast (25mi.) to Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus.

Carnoustie Golf Links / Championship Course (Angus) – Host of the Open seven times between 1931 to 2007. Ranked #21 in the world, Carnoustie is described as one of the true wonders of the golf world. Frequently used for the British Open, and most recent host to the Open in 1999, this 18-hole layout presents one of the greatest challenges for any player at the top of his game. (6,936 Yards/Par 72)

From Carnoustie, drive approximately 1½ hours south (72mi.) to Edinburgh Airport, return your rental car and board a shuttle flight to Manchester International Airport. Stay overnight in Manchester.

Hilton Manchester Airport – Enjoy a one-night stay at this convenient hotel just 5 minutes via the 24-hour hotel courtesy bus to the Manchester International Airport, and 10 miles to Manchester’s city center. Fit in a work out in the onsite LivingWell Express Gym or relax in one of three bars and restaurants.

Day 7:
Board your international flight to the U.S.

NOTE:  In the event of scheduling issues with courses or accommodations, you will be provided with comparable alternatives.
