Item Description
Desiree Armfeldt
A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (2009 Revival)
2009
Desiree’s smart traveling suite was inspired by the original costume designed by David Farley for the 2009 Broadway revival of A Little Night Music. It was recreated by researching authentic dress patterns from the 1890s. To simulate the period silhouette of the former stage star Desiree Armfeldt, our bear was sculpted with an S-curve shape that gives her a corseted look. She wears a double-faced black satin suit, accented with braided trim and satin buttons, bound with hems of matching silk satin and topped with a delicate lace collar. Over the dress, Desiree bear wears a glittering silk gray-and-white-striped jacket. Her shoes, masterfully crafted by Sam Vassily, are modeled after the boots worn by every fashionable Victorian lady on the go. Based on the character as portrayed by leading lady Bernadette Peters in the 2009 Broadway revival, her hair is styled in Bernadette’s signature curls, placed in a topknot with tendrils framing her face. Give yourself the gift of “The Glamorous Life” and take home our Desiree bear.
