Item Description

Have you always wanted to make a demo CD, or audition for a role in a local musical production? Then this item, donated by the  multi-talented David Sparr, is for you! You may choose EITHER four hours of recording studio time towards making a demo recording/CD OR David's services as piano accompanist for a live audition in the Boston area. Here is your opportunity to pursue that music career you have always dreamed of.

David Sparr (pianist/recording engineer) has been music director and accompanist at Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline since 2000 and is also the owner/engineer of Little Dog Studios in Malden. He has enjoyed accompanying and/or recording dozens of New England’s finest cantors and other Jewish musicians over the years, including Robbie Solomon, Gaston Bogomolni, Randall Schloss, Elias Rosemberg, Scott Sokol, Ken Richmond, Hankus Netsky, and Charles Osborne. Recently he helped Jeff Klepper with the piano orchestrations for Jeff's new Shabbat service.

On the secular side, David plays in a number of bands and has worked with, among many others, Sarah Caldwell (Opera Company of Boston), Joel Grey, Ernie Isley, and once even with the Zamir Chorale!  He has worked in theater as music director for Robbie Solomon's The Orphan Queen (in Baltimore, Lexington, Brookline and Concord) and Rosalie Gerut's Songs of Paradise (in Amsterdam, Munich, Brooklyn and Newton).
