Item Description
The Spraycan Desk Lamp came about as a way to reuse the many empty aerosol cans generated by local urban artists. A spraycan is a very well made and strong piece of material, so it seemed a waste to throw out the empties, which are hard to recycle. As it turned out, once the bottom is removed, the can makes an excellent pendant lamp that provides a warm glow in the color of the previous can contents. Frames are made of re-reclaimed wood, first salvaged from local buildings, then used in Streetcraft furniture, these are the final scraps, refined one last time. Made in LA.

Streetcraft helps urban youth learn to work collaboratively, creatively, and rigorously within interdisciplinary instructor-led teams with the purpose of creating unique design products for the mass market while simultaneously providing a framework for graduates to plan and execute their own design-based entrepreneurship strategy.
