What an extraordinary photograph taken by Doug Loman! This photograph of Miner's Castle in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore was taken in May of 2011 and features the full moon setting behind the rock formation. The artist was able to capture the image as the sun was rising. The size of the print is 36" x 54" (3ft x 4.5ft) so it is quite large. The photo is printed onto a sheet of aluminum framed with aluminum channel rails, giving viewers a true to life image. Shipping is not included in the bid price. The artist took time to calculate when the moon and sun would line up just right to take this photo and this alignment was a rare moment for such an iconic symbol of the UP. It took him numerous visits and seven years to finally get the chance to take this incredible photograph. This is a Limited Edition print and this is one of the Artist's Reserve. The artist will verify ownership, along a Certificate of Authenticity that will be sent to the successful bidder.
