Item Description
A vertical of Yalumba “The Signature” Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz: 1 bottle each from 3 different vintages: 2002, 2003, 2004 (3 bottles total).
These are older vintages that are a limited release from Yalumba’s wine library and are no longer available to purchase from retailers, so as a set they are valuable to wine lovers who enjoy experiencing how the same wine from the same vineyards can be different depending on the climate conditions of one year vs. another.
Since 1962, “The Signature” from Yalumba, Australia’s oldest family owned winery, has been crafted to showcase the very best quality of the vintage. Every year “The Signature” is dedicated to a particular person whose skills and service have enhanced the traditions and culture of Yalumba. Their story can be found on the back label. It’s the ultimate “Employee of the Year Award” and makes for the ideal executive business gift.
The Signature’s Cabernet Sauvignon-Shiraz blend is distinctively Australian, no other wine region in the world brings these two varietals together in the same way and to such great acclaim. This blend of old vine Cabernet and Shiraz is similar to the more famous - and obscenely more expensive - Penfold’s Grange, but “The Signature” is made to be enjoyed, not just collected. All three vintages are aged 22 months in new American, Hungarian and French oak.

From Yalumba Winery, Barossa Valley Australia
Yalumba is Australia’s oldest family-owned winery, founded in 1849. It is still owned and operated by the fifth generation of the Hill-Smith family. Yalumba owns multiple treasured vineyards throughout the Barossa Valley, Eden Valley, Limestone Coast, and Rutherglen. They also have the largest vine nursery in Australia and are one of only five wineries in the world to have their own on-site cooperage where oak barrels are made by hand to the exact specifications of the winemaker. It is because Yalumba has total control, from vine to wine, that they’ve gained a reputation for excellence and innovation, and are redefining the standard of quality for Australian wines.
