Item Description
"Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea"
This two night stay at the Anchor Bay Campground is for 1 family (2 adults and up to 4 children under 18) and one vehicle only. Additional fees apply for pets and extra vehicles.
Also included: a bundle of firewood to keep you warm and a bag of ice to keep your food and drinks cold!
Anchor Bay Campground LLC is located on California's scenic Highway 1 about 125 miles north of San Francisco, just 4 miles north of Gualala on Mendocino County's south coast. The rustic and cozy 5-acre campground is nestled in a narrow gulch filled with mossy redwoods. The tranquil forest meets the sea on one of California's most beautiful beaches.
With seasonal changes ranging from white sandy beach summers to rocky, driftwood-filled coves in the winter, the 3/4 mile long bay offers a variety of activities throughout the year. Being in the midst of a "banana belt" micro-climate means that we have sunny days while the rest of the coast is fogged in.
There are a range of campsites available for the vacationer. Each site offers a picnic table, a fire pit, and water. A few have an electrical hookup. Our facilities include: modern restrooms, hot coin-operated showers, fish cleaning station, septic dump station, and an open air picnic area with a kitchenette. We also offer a hiking trail to Anchor Bay Village. The Village offers restaurants, a Laundromat, and a grocery store.
Due to the high demand for campsites at certain times of the year, reservations are highly recommended. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance.
Erin Padavana, Proctor Parent, enjoyed winning this item 3 years ago. "We had a blast at Anchor Bay! It was our family's first camping trip - we went in late August and saw many sea lions lying there right on the beach, which was steps away from our campsite! Beautiful!"
