Item Description

Ladera Howell Mountain--The Heights of Hospitality

--Six 750 ml 2007 Ladera Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

--Estate Tour, Tasting and Luncheon for 8 people

Look southeast from the town of Calistoga, and you’ll see the west facing slopes of Howell Mountain rising high above the Napa Valley floor along the eastern side of the Silverado Trail. Ladera’s Howell Mountain vineyard sits across the broad summit of a ridge of that mountain, and in spite of altitudes ranging from 1,600 to 1,800 feet, the terrain is rolling and gentle. The beautiful stone winery traces its roots back to the 1880s and has been meticulously restored, and returned to its former glory as a gravity flow winery.

It’s a scene that looks remarkably peaceful for a mountain with a volcanic past. And so it is right that Ladera’s Howell Mountain wines display explosive intensity, but with finesse and elegance. Their California mountain origins give them their deep dark cherry flavors and rich character, while their European style is apparent in the refined, balanced and classical harmony of those flavors. Smoothly structured tannins promise long, graceful aging.

This magical estate winery is owned by Anne and Pat Stotesbery, whose gracious hospitality has become legend in this valley.
Enjoy a tour and tasting, and a specially prepared luncheon for you and your 7 guests in the gardens.  And so that you can get in the mood for a day to remember, this auction lot includes six 750 ml bottles of Ladera Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, from the heralded vintage of 2007.  Floral and fruity, spicy with hints of cocoa…you are going to love it!
