Diana
A CHORUS LINE
1975
“Perfectly simple or simply perfect?” This was the description of Theoni Aldredge’s classic designs for the unforgettable 1975 Broadway musical A Chorus Line. Standing in the pose made famous by Priscilla Lopez, Broadway’s original Diana Morales, our Diana bear stands attentively on “the line” with a hand on her hip and knee bent. She is dressed simply in her dancer’s layers, ready to dance for her life – and for the role in director Zach’s next big Broadway musical. Her football-style jersey in maroon and dark green velvet is accented with vivid, golden trim around her shoulders, neck and arms. Under the jersey, our Diana bear wears a grey and mauve-toned turtleneck. Her dark green dance pants match the trim on her football jersey. On her little feet are handmade white canvas sneakers and white ankle socks, perfect for pounding out a jazz combination with unparalleled technique and passion. As a finishing touch, we’ve recreated Priscilla Lopez’s signature hairstyle of short, dark brown locks. What will you do for love? Bid perhaps?
