Tanya
MAMMA MIA!
2001
See that girl! Watch that scene! Check out this Dancing Queen! Just when you think each performance of the long-running Broadway smash Mamma Mia is over, the full company comes back onstage to put on an unforgettable curtain call. In the nightly dance party, each of the six leads wears a jumpsuit inspired by original costumes worn by members of the international music sensation ABBA. Our Tanya bear wears an orange stretch satin jumpsuit with silk organza sleeves. This orange fabric was imported from London to make the original Broadway costumes. Individually sewn glass stars and Swarovski crystals accent the front of the jumpsuit, while rhinestones trim the hems, collar, cuffs and legs. Every stone comes from a remnant of previous Tanya costumes from the Broadway production. She wears silver leather platform boots with working zippers up the sides, just like the ones worn in the production. Her rhinestone-trimmed belt is made of the same silver leather. On top, she wears a blonde, hand-styled wig over dangling rhinestone earrings. Our Tanya bear is certainly one Super Trouper.
