Item Description

Elphaba
WICKED
2003

Our Elphaba, or should we say Elphabear, is one of those rare breeds that, like

her real-life counterpart, was truly born green. Wearing an exact reproduction of

Susan Hilferty’s Tony Award-winning “Emerald City/Defying Gravity” costume, Elphabear’s black “Twisted Edwardian” dress is made from the same heavy, black silk matelasse used for the show. The bodice features leg o’ mutton sleeves, a high collar, front placket with black buttons and basque waistline. The skirt is comprised of six intricate A-line panels that form a slight flare and is perfect for riding brooms and general levitating. She sports a dark brown human hair wig, worn down and pulled back from her face. Her black-linen, frayed cape is “clicked” around her neck and she’s wearing custom-cobbled black leather Victorian high-top boots. Elphabear also sports her infamous slouch-brimmed, twisted conical hat of black and navy reptile brocade, created in exacting ursine scale by the original milliner for Wicked. She carries a faithfully scaled version of her magical broomstick in her right hand. As a bonus, Elphabear comes with original props from the show: a “Green Elixer” bottle and Shiz school papers signed by Kristin Chenoweth, Joel Grey and Idina Menzel.
