Join curator, Alan Collachicco, at The Gables for a behind the scenes tour of the Great Mansion House that inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne to write the famous American romance The House of the Seven Gables. Learn its secrets, see pieces from the collection rarely put on display, enjoy discussions on the latest exhibits, and learn of the Hawthorne family ties to this old house. The 1684 Hooper-Hathaway House, moved to its present site in 1924 and Nathanial Hawthorne’s boyhood home, rescued from demolition in 1958, will also be included on the tour.
The tour will conclude with coffee and sandwiches in the Great Room of The Hooper-Hathaway House.
