Item Description
In their neighborhood study this year, the Eagles are learning about their community - the blocks surrounding CDS - and how they fit into it. This wooden “box quilt,” inspired and guided by the artist Blair Bradshaw, shows them working out that puzzle. The Eagles created collages with photographs taken from around the neighborhood and then chose where to place their self-portraits within those collages. Like the disparate puzzle pieces of our school and neighborhood communities, these collages fit together to create a harmonious whole.
Item Special Note
By the Eagles, Blair Bradshaw, Arin Fishkin, Kristen Aitken, Edward Aitken, Heather Kunz, Zahra Kelly and Lyda Cort. Teachers: Lindsay Hershenhorn and Jordan Freeman.
This year, all CDS Quilts will be placed in the Silent Auction for bidding on the night of Fiesta. Any quilt that reaches $5,000 in bids will be moved into the Live Auction. Want your class's quilt to have its moment in the spotlight? Then get bidding!
Absentee bids are available for this piece. Please contact Marion Quinones at: marionq@cds-sf.org by March 22th to place your bid.
