Item Description
We all came to know and love him as the coach of the UCLA Bruins whose teams won seven consecutive NCAA championships from 1967 to 1973. But long before he came to us, John R. Wooden was known as the Indiana Rubber Man for his dives on the hardcourt at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Wooden won varsity letters in basketball and baseball his freshman year and earned All-American honors as a guard on the basketball team in 1930-32. He was a three-time consensus All-American and Wooden was captain of
Purdue's basketball teams in 1931 and 1932 and led the Boilermakers to two Big Ten titles and the 1932 national championship.
This framed 8x10 photo in black & white is not signed and was donated to our event by Mr. Rodger Rutter, Financial Consultant to the late John R. Wooden.
