Item Description
- This item is for NYC Lab School students only
Senior English teacher and Coordinator of Student Activities Heidi Slatkin will come to your home on a Saturday or Sunday midday for approx 3 hours to teach up to 4 children how to roast a chicken, make a vegetable risotto, and assemble a salad. Adults can peek/listen in too!
At the end of the cooking lesson, we'll eat lunch together! Lunch would be: roast chicken, rice with cooked vegetables, and salad, with juice. Sounds good, right?
Heidi has been at Lab for 20 years, teaching mostly English Composition. Bring her an essay to be revised or an essay idea to be explored.
Item Special Note
- You'll have to provide all the necessary ingredients, preferably organic. I would give you (or your child) the grocery list in advance.
- I am extremely allergic to cats, so I cannot enter a home that has a cat - even a cat in locked in another room.
- I can work/teach in any sized kitchen, but the number of kids involved has make sense with the number of people that can be in the kitchen/put to work simultaneously. A kitchen/dining room table helps a lot if the kitchen is small.
