Our meeting location the first day is Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont, California (San Francisco Bay Area). After that we are on our way to Capitola on the Pacific Coast. The route will be on many favorite cycling roads in the San Francisco Bay Area. We will camp at New Brighton Beach and explore two different routes on different days taking you through farm lands, along the coast and into the hills. There will be a rest day allowing for exploration of the towns
in this area: Capitola, Santa Cruz, Soquel… The ride back to Fremont ends this journey. Each day of riding is a metric century.

Intermediate or higher rider.

Napa/Pacific Coast – 7 days

  • October 6 through 12
  • 296 miles     $1,400

A wonderful ride through the Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino Counties in northern California wine country and out to the scenic Pacific coast. After starting at Skyline Wilderness Park, the ride follows the Silverado Trail past vineyards and
orchards. The day ends at Napa-Bothe State Park outside of town.  Day two, we ride to Hendy Woods State Park traveling through more vineyards in the Anderson Valley.  The terrain starts to change as you ride through forests of oak
before camping in the Redwoods.  The next day we arrive at the Pacific Ocean. Our first rest stop will be right where the Navarro River meets the ocean. Camp with be at Manchester Beach.

The “day off” will be at the beach.  You can play there or choose another activity in the area – horseback riding, hiking, visiting nearby Point Arena.

A full day of riding along the Pacific Coast follows.  This is the most difficult day (both miles and climbing) but well worth it! Starting from Bodega Bay State Beach, we will ride inland through open areas before doing some city riding on
the Joe Rodata Bike Trail. The last several miles before entering the town of Napa are in farm and ranch country.

Intermediate or higher rider.

Sierra Nevada Tour – 7 days

  • October 14 through 20
  • 183 miles     $1,400

We will start at Groveland, Calif. (on Hwy 120), the northern gateway to Yosemite. After two days exploring this area, we will ride to Yosemite. The layover day will be in the Yosemite Valley. Bus tours, shopping, site seeing, hiking, cycling options. The penultimate day will be a partially challenging,
partially easy ride back to Groveland as we ride on Hardin Flat Road which drops down to Berkeley Camp and the Tuolumne River before climbing back up to Hwy 120.  Finally, the route takes us from Groveland to Jamestown for a visit
to the Railtown 1897 State Historic Park before returning to Groveland up the challenging (and infamous) Priest Grade. This ride includes a lot of climbing with
steep sections.

Intermediate or higher rider.
