The Society today, under the leadership of Artistic Director Harry Christophers, is committed to its mission “to perform Baroque and Classical music at the highest levels of artistic excellence and to share that music with as large and diverse an audience as possible.”

The Boston Globe (David Perkins)
"Christophers' reading was a revelation..."

The Boston Globe (Jeremy Eichler)
"Based on the evidence of last night's program, [Christophers] is already building an effective rapport with the Handel and Haydn chorus, which sounded impressively clear and full."

The Hub Review (Thomas Garvey)
"Christophers is smart, but straightforward, and conducts with physical verve and emotional openness--he's at home both with Handel's rhetoric and his sublimated rapture."

Classical Voice New England (Marvin Ward)
"Musicians, singers, and soloist responded to [Christophers'] syle with an energetic and finely rendered performance... This was an auspicious beginning for his tenure
