Item Description

Due to the State budget issues, Castro Valley Unified School District and Proctor Elementary School has been faced with making devastating cuts to services over the past couple of years.  Thanks to support from the school community and the PTA, some of those cuts did not have to be made.  Unfortunately the State budget issues continue and while this year we may not see new cuts to funding, we will not be recouping previously lost funding.   

With your support, we can continue to fund critical positions that will otherwise be lost at Proctor Elementary School. In 2012-13, we are at risk of losing the following staff:  Librarian, Instructional Assistants, Computer Support Technician, and other non-certificated staff.  

Your donation in any amount for this item will go DIRECTLY to salaries.  Give any amount at or above the "Buy It Now" price.  If you can't find the minimum amount you want to donate, email auction@proctorpta.org, and we will add it to the auction.

Item Special Note

Other schools in the Bay Area realized long ago that school necessities such as these were in the hands of parents, and those schools have been running auctions for years to cover it.  If we do not help our school remain one of the best, our children will suffer, and home-owners will see equity loss if our schools lose their fine reputation.  It may not be fair that the State cut our budget so much, but it is reality.  Act now to make a huge difference in our community, for all our children, and for ourselves.
