Item Description

$100 Gift Certificate at Rack & Soul.

  • You will need plenty of napkins at this great restaurant for delicious barbeque ribs and pulled pork!!
  • Forget about the diet for a night!!
  • From Time Out NY - When Charles Gabriel decided to open an Upper West Side offshoot of Charles’ Southern Style Kitchen—a Harlem soul-food perennial—fried-chicken fans from all over the city took notice. Gabriel’s crisp, meaty bird is often ranked among New York’s best—with reason. We licked every morsel off our fingers. The Rack half of the name refers to sweet, sticky, glistening baby-back ribs that fall off the bone. There are no appetizers, but a slew of sides, like smoky collard greens and gooey mac and cheese, kept us satisfied. An unusual drinks list featuring Chiantis, Rieslings and Austrian beers suggests that this soul-food eatery is onto something—these are great beverages to pair with a fried chicken dinner
  • From Village Voice - This joint project of Harlem's Charles Southern Kitchen (which began life as a panel truck called Charles Mobile Soul Food Kitchen) and barbecuist John Wheeler blends soul food and barbecue. While the fried chicken is meaty, moist, and delicious, parts of the barbecue menu are even better. A surprise favorite is the pulled-pork sandwich, with a modest amount of very smoky pork shoulder surmounted by creamy coleslaw on a sesame seed bun. The beef rib (the menu is careful to use the singular) could double as a baseball bat. There's a pleasant sit-down dining room with a view of Broadway, too.
