Item Description

The home-style Persian cuisine of LaLa Rokh is distinctive, with recipes dating back centuries. The meats, grains, herbs, fruits, vegetables, and spices in these dishes combine to create a sum far greater than its parts. Our food is extremely aromatic and flavorful, yet subtle.

We offer authentic dishes native to specific regions, with spices and flavors, which create each area¼s unique accent. Mirza Ghasemi, for example, is an appetizer distinct to the Caspian Sea region. This smoky and rich blend o roasted eggplant, garlic, tomato, and saffron is simply mesmerizing. Among the main courses, you can find an array of stylish dishes, from slow-cooked meats and poultry ‚ including beef, duck, veal, lamb, and chicken ‚ to game and fish, marinated in delicate herbs and spices and simply grilled. One such dish is Chelo Kabob, a simple combination of marinated beef with basmati rice found in all regions of Persia, In Azerbaijan, sumaq, raw onion, pickled cucumber, fresh mint and basil, grilled tomato, egg yolk, and butter are added to suit individual tastes. Another common dish is Ash, a thick soup made with chicken, beef, or vegetable stock. Fresh herbs, such as tarragon and parsley, combined with spinach, beans, tomatoes, dried plums, and the juice of unripened grapes distinguish Azerbaijan Ash from other variations.
