Item Description
To rock climb, a climber must tie into a rope and have a partner on the ground managing the rope. "Belaying" is the term for managing the ropes. In the one-hour belay class, you will learn how to use the ropes to protect a climber when they are climbing up, when they are climbing down, and if they fall. A beginner belay lesson includes gear rental (shoes and harness) and a one-day pass. After class, students will receive a temporary belay card so they can continue to climb and belay for the rest of the day! With three locations in the Bay Area -- Sunnyvale, Belmont, and San Francisco's Presidio -- you will surely find a Planet Granite close to home. Participants must be at least fourteen years old. Valid until June 31, 2012.
