• In 2004 my sister Amy and I had an epiphany. Tired of having to settle for the same "Hole in the Wall" salons week after week to deal with our unmanageable kinky hair, we looked around for an upscale salon that could style what everyone else had called unmanageable.   We found nothing! We were appalled at this lack of service, and surprised that most mainstream salons didn’t know how to style our hair.  While taking note that most salons preferred to work with simpler hair textures, we decided to open Elia in 2005.
• Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City, in Elia we sought to blend the atmosphere and quality of an upscale business, with the styling techniques of a Dominican salon.  We saw an opportunity to create a business that most professional women were looking for.   We embraced the challenge, and in this endeavor we succeeded beyond our wildest dreams. Today, Elia caters to women of all ages and of different ethnic backgrounds.  We can treat any type of hair, from coarse and curly, to straight and dry. No hair is beyond the abilities of our professional stylists to master and style to your specifications.  At Elia, the service is designed to be effective and convenient.
• We work from the bottom up, making sure that each visit is customized to address your needs, starting by customizing your shampoo and using the same method for everything else.  You can be assured that every product we use is specifically chosen to work best for you. Combining the best professional grade products on the market with personalized services like our special two stylist blow out.
