Ashanti furniture is made by craftsmen in the Ashanti region of modern day Ghana in West Africa.
Who are the Ashanti people?
The Ashanti people are a tribe in the West African country of Ghana in the Ashanti Region. Before the British invasions in the late 19th Century, the Ashanti had a large and influential empire that stretched across much of the West African region. It was later referred to as the Asanteman or Ashanti Confederacy.
