Decorating Basics  -  Beginning Cake Decorating

New to decorating? Help starts here! These basic instructions will guide you to decorating cakes, cupcakes, cookies and more like a pro.  Using the proper icing (frosting), made to the correct consistency, is essential for beautiful decorating. Create impressive and delicious desserts with these simple tips and techniques. Learn the perfect buttercream icing recipe and which consistency works best for your cake decorating or other dessert projects, plus easy ways to adjust consistency. Other things you will learn: how to color your icing, how to choose and use decorating bags, use of couplers, how to choose and use decorating tips, and how to fill and use a decorating bag. Plus you’ll learn how to prepare a cake for decorating and how to create a cake that wow’s your family and friends.  There are four classes that are held once a week. The cost is $80.  

     Cake Design, Flowers & Royal Icing  -   Intermediate Cake Decorating  

Build on the skills you learned in our Beginners Decorating class! Your experienced Jane’s Cake instructor will introduce you to many dramatic techniques to make your cakes unforgettable. Master elegant new borders featuring rosettes, reverse shells and rope designs. Give your cakes eye-catching dimension with the addition of bold color flow decorations. Create lovely new flowers like rosebuds, daisies, daffodils, mums and more. Use these flowers in a grand finale — an impressive flower basket cake using the interwoven basketweave technique. There are four classes that are held once a week. 

               Specialty Cakes -   Advanced Cake Decorating 

 Fondant Cakes  -  Advanced Cake Decorating for our Daring students

Reach a new level of decorating sophistication with the beautiful flowers and techniques in our Advanced Decorating class. Begin with intricate accents such as embroidery and lace, string-work, garland and ruffle borders. Discover the beauty of decorating with rolled fondant — for covering cakes with an immaculate smooth surface and shaping fun figures and elegant flowers. Add several new icing flowers to your repertoire, including lovely holiday blooms like poinsettias and Easter lilies. Complete your course by assembling and decorating a towering tiered cake with beautiful string-work, flowers and borders. Our Jane’s experienced instructors will guide you through the process, you’ll love the results. There are four classes that are held once a week. The cost is $80.
