Item Description
This stylish necklace is handmade by Breya Stephenson. It is designed and constructed from recycled copper electrical wire and glass beads in various shades of black. The necklace makes a definite statement with its bold design. However, it is fairly lightweight with the heaviest part being the beaded centerpiece.
Breya Stephenson finds it important that her designs continue to remain artistic as well as wearable. She is inspired to make wearable art pieces because she feels that an accessory can make an outfit. Unlike clothing, jewelry can be worn by all different body types. Jewelry can also allow the wearer to feel that their ensemble is unique and special. Breya strives to make original pieces that can create an outfit not just adorn it.
Breya Stephenson is a 2011 graduate of the WSU Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textiles Department. She received a Mollie Pepper Best of Show award at the 2011 Annual Mom's Weekend Fashion Show for her collection titled “Stature”.
