"Shine Like a Lighthouse" by Tim Janis - book and CD

Tim Janis and illustrator Steve Lavigne collaborated on this children's tale of the coastal creatures living by the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine.

"My hope was to capture some of the essence of tranquility and inspiration one finds in a beautiful spot such like the Nubble Lighthouse," said Janis, who wrote the story.

Lavigne illustrated for the Teenage Mutuant Ninja Turtles for quite some time, but has recently transitioned to more freelance work.

Janis created an eight-song CD of music inspired by the story. Nationally acclaimed artists Jim Cole and Wendy Morton are guest vocalists on the album.

Composer, musician, conductor, and arranger Tim Janis is a story of a deep belief in the power of creating music that can heal and bring peace on a global level. His music has traveled a long and interesting journey into becoming a global healing force. This musical force has traveled to such diverse places as the hallowed ground of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City, Africa, China, Eastern Europe, the United States and numerous public television specials, enthralling a legion of fans. "Trouble at Nubble LIght" by Katherine Bailey

Autographed copy of this delightful story about a boy who lived on the small island off the coast of York Beach, Maine, that is home to the Nubble Lighthouse. This charming story tells the tale of his adventures with his seagull pal and of the creative way he got to school every morning.

"The Sea Chest" by Toni Buzzeo

As they watch for the arrival of a long-awaited stranger, Maita tells her great-grandniece the story of her remarkable childhood.  Living sheltered on a lighthouse island with only her parents for company, Maita would bake pumpkin pies, tend to the hens, spin stories, and long for a time when she might not be the only child the ragged island knew.  And then one icy night, howling winds blew wave after wave against the shore, and from that fearsome storm came a sea chest--a gift that would change Maita's life forever.

From a beguiling legend, Toni Buzzeo has fashioned this exquisitely lyrical, intimate tale, illustrated in stirring, vibrant paintings by Mary GrandPré.  Together they have created a book of classic beauty and resonance.
