Item Description
The tropics have long been an inspiration for Miami native, Lisa Remeny. A Fine Arts graduate of the California College of the Arts, it was a trip to Jamaica in 1980 that ignited her passion for all things tropical. During the ensuing decade, Lisa resided in both Jamaica and South Florida, always looking very carefully at everything around her. The play of light on water, the many shades of green, the textures and subtlety of orchids, bromeliads and palms and the lush effects that sunlight and moonlight have on clouds were all incorporated into her expressive and beautiful creations.
Now living in Coconut Grove and working in oils and watercolor, her work ranges from photo-realistic to semi-abstract. A popular artist, she is regularly called upon to create images for tropical festivals and businesses of all types. Additionally, her work is in many private and public collections worldwide.
