Item Description
Irrepressible Friendship, 2007. Mixed Media on paper, framed, 42" x 34". An avid supporter of the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation (CAF) and an ULC Distinguished Artist, Bramson is a renowned artist in Chicago whose images meander between a physical and mental existence that juxtaposes the nonsensical with the profoundly meaningful. Bramson says her work is "based on the co-presence of memory and fiction, suggesting a miniaturized fairytale-like illusionary life that offers up all sorts of cosmic possibilities. Beginning invisibly and unconsciously, when the narrative and forms finally develop they become distilled, killed, seductive, lost, self-containing and overflowing."
