Assembling an art collection can be time-consuming and sometimes daunting. Tomlinson Kong Contemporary offers personal and thoughtful consulting services to succinctly meet your specific needs. Our clients range from those who are curious about beginning an art collection to seasoned collectors to corporations and institutions.
Tomlinson Kong Contemporary is an art gallery dedicated to supporting the work of established and emerging international artists. Tomlinson Kong Contemporary opened in September 2011 with an inaugural exhibition of work by Markus Linnenbrink, and began with the representation of four artists, Ken Fandell, Johannes Girardoni, Christopher Kurtz, and Mr. Linnenbrink, with intentions to expand to include a thoughtfully-curated stable of artists working in a variety of media. With plans to exhibit in the international art fairs as well as presenting up to six exhibitions of new work a year, Tomlinson Kong Contemporary will be firmly situated in the energetic and ever-expanding New York City art world in its location near the The New Museum and the leading galleries located on Bowery and in the Lower East Side.
Tomlinson Kong Contemporary was founded by the same team behind Artware Editions, the hybrid gallery/design showroom founded in 2006 that is a leading voice in the art/design convergence. The co-founders, Rebecca Kong and Jon Tomlinson, together have a diverse background in the arts. Ms. Kong, the former director of such prestigious galleries as Donald Young Gallery and Alan Koppel Gallery, both in Chicago, and Peter Freeman, Inc., New York, received her MA from The University of Chicago in art history and philosophy and has published on the work of Rodney Graham.
