Item Description
Erected high on the Mohegan Bluffs, Southeast Block Island Light was first illuminated in 1875. The enormous first-order Fresnel lens is the only one of its kind in the United States sporting a green light.
The lighthouse was rescued in 1993 when it was moved back from the edge of the eroding bluff by International Chimney Corp. and Expert House Movers, thanks to the hard work of the Block Island Southeast Lighthouse Foundation.
