Item Description

Arthur Ashe was a tennis player, the first, and currently only, African American to win the men's singles at Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, or the Australian Open. After his retirement, Ashe wrote for Time magazine, commentated for ABC Sports, founded the National Junior Tennis League, and served as captain of the U.S. Davis Cup team. Ashe was not only a true tennis pioneer, but he was also a humanitarian and activist for social change.
