Item Description
Michael Connolly loved the Villanova Wildcats. For more than 20 years, he painstakingly researched the history of standout Villanova athletes, interviewing former players, their families, friends, and colleagues. He also scoured the archives at Villanova and visited every sports hall of fame in the country. The fruits of his labors are showcased here in a witty, vividly illustrated coffee-table book that chronicles 19th- and 20th-century Villanova athletes from near-forgotten figures such as Denny Mack, who starred on the university's 1868-69 baseball team, to household names such as Oakland Raiders' NFL Hall-of-Fame defensive star Howie Long.
