Item Description
Imagine sitting down to a warm and inviting family meal, the menu is flawless, the table is set beautifully and the children are well behaved. This auction item won’t provide the food, or promise good behavior, but it does include the ultimate in table setting—remember the Martha Stewart rule—presentation is everything!
The children in Mrs. Halvorsen’s 8th Grade class created a handmade, beautiful and completely functional (dishwasher and microwave safe) ceramic pottery dinner service for eight. Featuring dinner and salad plates along with soup bowls, this unique set boasts of a Boji Blue color glaze. Each child played a role in the creation of this set from rolling out the clay to shaping the final product—providing a constructivist and integrated approach to the creation of this project.
Many thanks to Neil Estrick of the Neil Estrick Gallery for lending his expertise and patience to this project.
