Item Description

Imagine a game that inspires children to learn about prairie flowers, birds of prey, and invasives in Lake County! Ms. Heier's sixth grade class has created "Hungry Hawks", a game similar to Angry Birds, using "birds of prey" ping-pong balls that are launched from a carefully-crafted slingshot to topple wooden "invasive species" blocks, including species found in the air, on land, and in the water.

But wait - there's MORE! The game table has been designed to replicate our own Prairie Crossing Charter School campus! It includes "Checking the Prairie Flowers" on Market Square, a game of checkers using bottle caps adorned with colorful native prairie flowers found right here in Grayslake! These game pieces can also be used for a competitive game of "Tic Tac Leopold"! And if you're looking for more action, you can play a good old-fashioned game of "Ping-Pong Prairie" on a table that's the perfect height for young players.

Our students carefully researched the natural elements used in the games, and created a game manual, complete with spectacular color photographs, so that your family can learn while you play!

We hope that you have as much fun "Playing Across the Prairie" as we did creating this amazing multi-purpose game table for your family - oh, and did we mention that it can be used as a traditional forest green coffee table (measuring 23" by 59") when the games are done? Good luck bidding!
