Watch the architect and contractor discuss their playhouse and its rainwater collection capabilities.

Designed by Loop Design Architecture with Shoal Creek Contractors overseeing construction, the Precipitation Station is an exciting and beautiful playhouse which also performs a very vital function, the collection and storage of rainwater. Your children are able to play and enjoy this Playhouse while also learning how to conserve a vital natural resource. With collection tanks built into the playhouse and a design geared towards funneling the maximum amount of rainwater into the barrels, your children will soon learn just how much water really falls from the sky and how to make use of it. The tanks come with hoses and are detachable so you can use the collected rainwater in your yard. This functional piece of art will soon become your favorite part of your yard.

Here what Christy Seals, the architect on this project, has to say about her design:

"An interest in all of our architectural projects is how using the sun and rain can help offset non-renewable resource use. So we turned that way of thinking towards our playhouse design. The “precipitation station” is not only a fun structure to play in and around (with a ladder wall, sandbox, and swing), but its single sloping metal roof is a rainwater catchment surface, sending water to 50-gallon rain barrels, which, in turn, provide enough water and water pressure for some slip-n-slide fun."

8'x15'x10' (8'x10' but swingset adds extra length)

Shipping your Playhouse:

Included in your purchase is curbside shipping within Austin city limits. Anything beyond that is the responsibilty of the owner. A fork lift is required to move the playhouse and if there are any structures that they need to be lifted over a Skytrak is needed.

For an added fee of $700, we will move the playhouse directly into your yard.
