Founded in 1920, the St. Petersburg Museum of History was the first museum in St. Petersburg, and the third oldest historical museum in Florida. The museum has collected and preserved over 30,000 artifacts of the history and prehistory of St. Petersburg, the State of Florida and the Pinellas Peninsula during the last 90 years.
The mission of the St. Petersburg Museum of History is to collect, preserve and communicate the history and heritage of Florida with emphasis on St. Petersburg and the Pinellas Peninsula.
