Item Description
SILENT---Just Desserts: Dessert wine is one of life's pleasures (if you have it with cheese as an appetizer, it is still one of life's pleasures, just a little earlier in the meal). This lot includes 2 bottles of white dessert wine, one French and one from California. The French wine is a half bottle of 2005 Chateau Contet sauternes. The California bottle is the famous (and rare) 2002 Mr. K Nobleman—made by Sine Qua Non's M. Krankl, and the late Alois Kracher. In giving this wine 95 points, Robert Parker noted: "The 2002 Mr. K The Noble Man (321 grams per liter of residual sugar and 10.25 grams per liter of acidity) is made from 100% botrytised Chardonnay. Its medium gold color is followed by a wine with honeyed complexity, and huge body, sweetness, and thickness. This effort is never as complex or focused as its siblings, but it is still a phenomenal sweet wine that can stand on its own merits against any great sweet wine made in the world."
