Item Description
This beautiful original embroidered christening gown was created by FNU student Bonnie Rickenbach and given to Frontier Nursing University for the Spring Online Auction. Bonnie writes that making these gowns was a great stress reliever. She was taught the art of embroidery by her great grandmother at the age of nine, yet she never had the time to complete a long project until she was an adult. Bonnie has donated some of her other gowns to the American Cancer Society and Right to Life groups for their auctions.
Item Special Note
The gown is white muslin with white embroidery and clear glass beads on the yoke. The four hearts connected by vines in the design represent generations and the ties that bind us. The single, aged button at the neck in the back is from Ms. Rickenbach's grandmother's baby gowns that was made by her great grandmother as an honor to them for the rich heritage that has been handed down. The brocade ribbon around the entire hem represents the circle of life that begins the day we are born.
This gown's size is 0-3 month or up to 16 pounds
