Enjoy a long weekend or up to four nights mid-week at a historic townhome located at the former Fort McKinley on Great Diamond Island, Maine.
Diamond Cove is a private community a short ferry ride outside of Portland Maine. The island is serviced by Casco Baylines, allowing easy access to Portland’s Old Port for shopping, fine dining and other services. While staying at Diamond Cove, you will have access to all homeowner amenities, including private beaches, a swimming pool, fitness center and an old-fashioned bowling alley use by soldiers stationed at Fort McKinley, which was completed in the early 1900’s. Other amenities include seasonal businesses such as a general store and a restaurant, Diamond’s Edge. There is also a marina offering transient dock space.
The unit boasts a private covered porch perfect for relaxing and an open floor plan on the main level. It sleeps six to eight people comfortably, with a finished basement consisting of a small sitting area, a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a private bath. The second floor offers a bedroom with a queen bed and a kids’ room which sleeps four.

Limitations or special instructions: Valid for a 3 night long weekend or 4 nights mid-week with flexible dates between Memorial day and late September. Weekend restrictions during July and August; willing to do Sunday through Wednesday most weeks during summer. No pets and no smoking inside unit. Diamond Cove is a car-free community, so park your car in Portland at the ferry terminal. Courtesy shuttle service on island.
