Item Description
A Friend of WXXI offers a framed collection of reproduction photographs, ROCHESTER BICENTENNIAL PARADE - 1912. Unlike the majority of communities, Rochester has traditionally celebrated milestone years from 1834 when the state granted it a city charter. In 1912, however, Rochester celebrated the centennial of its founding. Festivities included an impressive parade complete with elaborate horse-drawn floats. This collection depicts 6 of them and the immense crowd that lined downtown streets to view them. The images are archival mounted on a linen faced board in an antique bronze finished wood frame measuring 27.5 x 22 inches. Bid high for handsome presentation of Rochester as it was one hundred years ago!
