Item Description

ITALY... What comes to mind? The rolling hills of Tuscany, the vineyards in Chianti, the dome of St. Peter’s and the gondolas of Venice. All wonderful, however, Italy is much, much more and you’ll discover the "land between the 2 seas" on this 15 day trip to Italy.

You are bidding on a spot for four people to join Father Margherio's small private tour of Italy.

The journey to the land between the Mediterranean and Adriatic begins in Sicily, in the city of Palermo. Five days will be spent exploring this beautiful island. Since the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans and Spanish have all influenced Sicily, you’ll see Greek temples, Roman theaters, Norman castles, and Moorish/Islamic temples. After crossing the Straits of Messina, the next 6 days will be in the regions of Apulia and Basilicata , the heel of the boot, on the Adriatic Sea, in places with strange sounding names: Taranto, Ostuni, Gallipoli, Locorotondo, and Alberobello. Here you’ll visit whitewashed hilltowns, ceramic works and fishing villages. The final 3 days will be spent on the breathtaking Amalfi coast that will include a day on the Isle of Capri. The flight home will be from Naples.

If you would enjoy seeing another side of Italy, tasting the local cuisine, overnighting in non-chain hotels and country estates, visiting wineries, local fish markets, miles of beaches and out-of- the way hilltop towns, then this trip is for you.

Included are: Airfare, accommodations, breakfast and dinner each day, ground transportation, local guides.
