Item Description
"The Wheels Of Recycle"
. . . is a kinetic garden sculpture. "Made by kids!" "We tried to recycle all these bike and car parts and make something creatively different." "We tried our hardest to make it colorful." "It was a fun and exciting project with an environmental theme."
These statements were made by the students in Mr. Zamiar's 5th grade class upon completion of their auction project. The students were provided with a basic concept of creating large-scale metal "pinwheels." Materials included vintage 1954 Schwinn bicycle plates, discarded wheels obtained from a bicycle repair shop, and a 1973 Camaro tire. The class was divided into three groups, each given a variety of supplies and tools, and encouraged to work creatively and collaboratively. We hope you enjoy what they have created!
