Item Description

LIVE--- SEE THE COMPLETED WORK & PHOTOS -- Dallas-based contemporary artist JD Miller (uncle of Brookwood students Alaina, Cameron and alum Melissa Robie) worked the past few days with the Class of 2012, introducing them to “Reflectionism” and his signature 3-D oil technique.  They also had a chance to make their mark on a special expressionistic work entitled “Heron 2012” that JD painted for the Class of 2012.  The back side of the canvas also features a collage of PHOTOS from throughout the year.

To see an example of JD’s work, and to hear more about the school of “Reflectionist” artists he has founded, visit www.jdmillerart.com.

JD presently works out of his studio located in Samuel Lynne Galleries, in the design district of Dallas, Texas, which he co-owns with internationally known restaurateur and fellow artist Philip J. Romano.

He has been mentoring students for several years at The Winston School in Dallas, where the kids voted him to be this year’s commencement speaker.  He is excited for the opportunity to work with Brookwood’s Class of 2012. “Kids … are tapped into the movement, the color, every bit of the experience. They bypass the filters that we as adults tend to put in front of things.” – JD

Item Special Note

Limitations or special instructions:

•  30" x 40" canvas

•  Frame not included.  JD is happy to consult with your framer, if desired.

•  Painting will be ready for framing by approx. mid-October 2012.  The 3-D oil needs about 6 months to dry completely before receiving a final finishing glaze.  The Robies will be glad to store the painting until then, or winning bidder may take home, knowing the risk of smudging the sculpted paint.  It may be hung while drying as long as there is no possibility of being knocked.
