Wall of Heroes
Item Description
Erik Weihenmayer is one of the most accomplished athletes in the world. In 2001, he became the only blind person to climb Mount Everest. When he stood on top of Carstenz Pyramid in 2008 he completed his quest to climb all Seven Summits - the tallest peaks on each of the seven continents. The best-selling author's mask was created by Kelly Kiesnowski who backlit the mask to bring out Braille for REACH, one of Erik's phrases. Last fall Erik led veterans, all of whom were wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, to the summit of a Himalayan giant. His goal was to give back to America's heroes and demonstrate what is possible despite adversity.
