Artist Lisa Garness Mallory created this mask for Gladys Knight who signed it during a Denver visit. Known as the Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight is best known for the hits she recorded during the 1960s and 70s, with her group Gladys Knight and the Pips.
Lisa, a Denver native, does fine art photography that has been exhibited both internationally and locally. Her art career began at age 16 when she developed a technique of etching with needles directly onto her photography. Lisa etched the flowers directly onto this mask, and used colored inks to paint them.
