Evergreen artist Barb Yates grew up in the desert of El Paso, Texas and has been painting since childhood. Primarily self-taught, she earned a BFA at Quincy College, Ill. Her contemporary abstract work is inspired by Colorado nature and the Southwest. Her works are in private and corporate collections nationally and internationally. Barbs paintings have appeared in many fine art publications and have been recognized by Southwest Art Magazine. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, Art Students League of Denver, Evergreen Artists Association, Lakewood Arts Council, Daily Painters of Colorado and Contemporary Fine Arts International.
